It depends on a lot of factors. I don’t know all the numbers, but I know Denmark utilizes a lot of wind power, 58% of energy production, Lithuania 45.5%, Sweden 21%. Texas comes in at 28.6%, which is high, and that is because of the large plains in the west and because of the free market competition in ERCOT (it is cheap).

Yes unfortuntaly you are right Diane. ERCOT has been around a long time and the free market lowest bidder system has worked for decades. Hopefully, they are not going to backtrack on that. However, the organization I joined, Citizens Climate Lobby, will convene in Austin at the end of March (2025) to talk to the Texas legislators.
